Hilton win Dickie Trophy
Hilton 4 Glendale 0

Glendale were forced to make changes before the game started as Stuart Hay was injured in the warm up. The game kicked off with the sun shining and the pitch in perfect condition.

Hilton went on the attack from the kick off and Glendale keeper Walker had to look lively when Clayton rounded a defender and fired in a shot. In thirteen minutes Glendale’s keeper Walker was red carded for making a save outside his box. Hilton went ahead in twenty eight minutes after a move down the left by Sinclair whose cross was met by Clayton and he scored from close range.

Half time: 1-0

Just on the hour mark Hilton’s Sinclair scored the goal of the game when his forty yard drive flew into the net giving the substitute keeper no chance. Glendale kept trying to get back into the game but could not get past the blue shirts of Hilton’s defence. Hilton went three up in seventy six minutes when Merchant scored from the edge of the box. Hilton’s Shirreffs made it 4-0 three minutes later. With minutes to go Hilton’s Main was sent off for a tackle on Glendale’s Bissett.

Hilton win Chattan Rovers Cup
Hilton 4 Trophies International 1

Hilton lifted the Chattan Rovers Cup following a 4-1 win against Trophies International in the final at Keith Park on 25th March.

It was Trophies International who opened the scoring on 14 minutes when McDonald turned in a crowded penalty box before curling the ball into the corner of the net.

Hilton equalised seven minutes later when Murray latched on to a through ball and steered his shot low beyond Sinclair. Shirreffs then put Hilton in front from the penalty spot on the half hour mark and they went 3-1 in front just before the interval when Sinclair chipped the ball across goal and Scott powered home a header at the back post.

Youngson sealed the victory for Hilton with the goal of the game on 68 minutes when he went on a long diagonal run before firing the ball into the top corner from the edge of the area.
